An updated icon set is introduced in this beta. Harder to do than one thinks. Too much of a change and it throws everything off and looks completely foreign, don't update it at all and it becomes stale. So a slightly modified Elementary-add icon set was selected to freshen up the distribution providing many more icons across the spectrum while still feeling and looking familiar with a wide range of support among many different program themes and styles.

Repositories and Seamonkey were also slimmed down slightly while the entire system received all current updates.

This beta is for testing and lots of it...one of the things missing is the installer slideshow...they're a time waster.
