LXLE 14.04 is incredible. Pcmanfm has made it so simple to make it file-manager centric for really getting some work done. Bye Bye Nautilus! Here are my fm actions...
WIth a simple install of dockbarx(I've mentioned using it with xfce4-panel before, but it runs stand alone in lxle just fine), brightside, x-tile, a few tweaks to obconf and lxappearance plus a simple edit to lubuntu-rc.xml to have most windows open maximized , then using "default applications for lxsession" to add dockx to core applications, we have an outstanding netbook desktop that runs great, even on my acer aspire-one netbook.
To deal with some windows that can't be easily resized, I use brightside to make 2 hot corners. One to mouse into to rotate the screen left, and one to rotate back again.
For window control, I use dockbarx, control-alt-tab, lxle's areo snap along with running x-tile g 0 0 via brightside in another window corner for window overview. You can use the other brightside hot corner to toggle the desktop.
For more screen real estate you can use obconfig to shrink the titlebar, and auto hide the panel and dock.
if you want a more modern type menu you can install cardapio create a launcher for it in lxpanel (i'm using tint2 panel). You can also change the logo for it.
The quick launcher (fehlstart) can also be customized to match your theme, You can change the border, background color, font, font color and switch between 2-tone or single color.
