Just attempting to put a test-build of the 64-bit LXLE 14 on a drive also containing LinuxMint 17 and WindowsXP but the installer just will not acknowledge the hard-drive exists. The drive is a Sata drive of 160GB and has only the max 4 primary partitions (no weird extended ones).
When I boot into the Live session on do the 'Something Else' section of the installer, I Repeated get the following error:
"The ext4 file system in partition #3 of /dev/sda failed"
The same thing happens when I skip directly to the installer.
Have tried completely removing the partition in Mint first, setting it to something like NTSF, to format from, nothing seems to improve the situation. I know the partition is OK, because I previously had elementary on it.
Is there any other way to install (ideally without having to format first - as that is where it always goes wrong)?
P.S. Tried running 'Disks' from the live environment also and also run into an access error while trying to partition/format before install - Do I have to install LXLE before anything newer, to avoid compatibility problems?
P.S. also tried live boot from USB, but the computer doesn't support USB boot.
