How to keep from running at startup

    Some workarounds I've been using until things get sorted out.

    For
    BitTorrent Sync - RC on tray icon and quit
    Parcellite - RC on tray icon and quit
    nm-applet - Terminal > killall nm-applet

    Note
    BitTorrent & Parcellite and be run again from the start menu
    Network Connections can easily be accessed with ALT-Z, type net, enter key

    Have you noticed any improvement recently as there should have been a fix pushed out for 14.04 to mend the mass auto-start problem?  Make sure you refresh and apply updates...

    Menu>preferences>default application for lxsession


    untick anything you don't want to load, including 'network' thats where the double network icon is coming from
