I have an ol HP Pavilion laptop that came with Vista.  It got slow, so I decided to try Linux on it a year ago. I tried Mint Cinnamon first, but it was laggy.  Mint KDE was a little better, but still seemed to want stronger hardware.  But LXLE has it running like a speed demon.  There is one small problem I will ask about in the forum, I suspect it's a hardware thing and hopefully can be ameliorated once I find some tweaks.  But either way, it's a pleasure to use.
