LXLE Eclectica 16.04.4 Released

An updated icon set is introduced in this release. Harder to do than one thinks. Too much of a change and it throws everything off and looks completely foreign, don't update it at all and it becomes stale.

So a slightly modified Elementary-add icon set was selected to freshen up the distribution providing many more icons across the spectrum while still feeling and looking familiar with a wide range of support among many different program themes and styles.

Repositories and Seamonkey were also slimmed down slightly while the entire system received all current updates. The main menu received some attention; along with updated icons some 'sorting' adjustments were made to help better categorize any given application, particularly but not exclusive to the 'control menu' and it's sub categories.

As stated in the past release this general overall setup of the system and it's included programs have become the default for many reasons; most importantly it's just nice and hits nearly all the goals of the distribution.

In other words, I just really really like it. It's damn good at least for me and hopefully for others as well. I don't have any real 'roadmap' outside of what I would setup for any friend or family member on an aging computer. Pretty simple philosophy I guess.

This release has been delayed over the past couple weeks due to incoming updates that needed to be tested. Everything from kernel updates, browsers and firmware. Each time I was ready to release another significant update came through from the 'mothership', so to speak.

Pound for pound, LXLE is about as easy, fast, lean and feature rich as any lightweight OS can get.
