SeaMonkey vs Firefox vs Chromium vs Thunderbird Memory Usage

Our SeaMonkey implementation sports a number of plugins and features already included by default. Some are completely necessary just to meet some of the common features of Firefox. Others are strictly for extra capabilities.

These are the addons that cause the most weight and or provide substantial features in SeaMonkey which include the GTK theme, Bluhell Firewall, Enigmail, FireFTP, Lightning, Sendlater, Stylish and ImportExportTools. Yet even with these addons SeaMonkey still weighs in lighter than both Chromium and Firefox, when you add in Thunderbird the savings really shows.

Considering SeaMonkey web browser is based on Firefox and the SeaMonkey email client is based on Thunderbird, it makes perfect sense for a system like LXLE. Firefox, Chromium and Thunderbird shown below sport no plugins or extra features unlike our SeaMonkey implementation. Before you ditch something unfamiliar be sure to give it a good run first.

We wouldn't have picked it for a aging computers if it wasn't capable and light. Pound for pound you get more features out of the box, more or less the same convenience given you utilize the SeaMonkey Bookmarks included by default and your system will run smoother.

These screenshots were taken on the 64bit version of LXLE. First shot has all three browsers open, the second also shows emails clients as well.

    BUG?
SeaMonkey is fun to learn.  I wonder why, tho, that the BlueHell icon only shows up in the first instance of the browser.  When I open another SeaMonkey window, the Bluehell icon is missing.
