In fact linux does not required anti virus at all. The purpose of the scanner is to keep your windows or data partitions clean and also to make sure that, you are not hosting any virus program, that can cause problems to other computers while exchanging data with them.
I don't believe that. There have been instances where viruses and malware have been in(infected) Linux due to whatever reason; which is the reason I looking for a strong anti-virus and anti-malware software other than the one that comes with LXLE.
I've been using Linux for 10 years and I have never had a problem with spyware or viruses. I use clamav to scan any file I send to a Windows user for their protection only. Windows viruses can't run on Linux, and right now there are very few Linux threats. A firewall is all I use.
And as you may notice there are very few Linux antivirus and anti malware options. Probably because there is no market for them. I suspect that if Linux malware was much of an issue, there would be Linux antivirus apps all over the place.
EDIT: Only 'you' (the user with root previlege) can infect a linux box, because in linux nothing can be installed without root password, be it a program, virus or malware . BTW as a computer-shop owner I shall be more than happy, if I can sale lot of linux anti virus, as we do for windows . LOL
