You can add all kinds of templates to your right click "Create New.." context menu. You can go here, download and extract this archive to your templates folder in your home directory. Now when you need a spreadsheet, script or document, it's easy to create one. You can add your own templates simply by saving one to the templates directory. You can also delete any you aren't using!
