Questions regarding a custom kernel

    Good day,

         I have been considering recompiling a kernel just to learn how to do it, but also to see if it can improve my experience. My plan is to compile a kernel tailored just for my hardware, just like something in Gentoo. I'd like some opinions regarding this.
