How does one install fonts from the web?
  • While I'm enjoying using LXLE and LXDE, I have just run into something that's a major pain in the patoot, and I have no idea how to do this.  While I know how to install fonts from the repositories, how is one supposed to install fonts they download from the web?  You would think that extracting that font from its archive and installing said font in either /usr/share/fonts or ~/.fonts would do, just like in the heavier desktop environments, but no.  Anyone know just what the magic trick is here?  I am stumped as all get-out...

    Thanx in advance,
    Fred in St. Louis

Often, logging out and then logging back on will sort things.
