32 bit Default Memory Usage/Installation Size/Boot Time

    Hi Everyone,

    I am investigating options for my Landlord's old desktop with a Pentium 4 2.66 GHz CPU, 512MB RAM (333MHz) and a 40 GB Hard Drive (7200 RPM SATA 150).

    Without any optimisations what is the Memory Usage when the system is ready for use?

    What is the Size for the ISO for the Revisited 12.04.4 version.

    How much Hard Drive space does a Default install require?

    What would be the approximate Boot Time for the above Hardware specifications?

    Some of us don't have the bandwidth, nor the time, to download and test various distros; hence the questions of which none are answered by the page you posted nor the dated reviews linked to on that page for the version I inquired about.

    If I had to guess, it will be fine, system should use only about 100 megs of ram at idle, the iso file size is 1.4 gig the hard drive space requirements are at least 8 gigs, boot time will be about 1 minute.
