     I just installed to LXLE 14.04 32 bit.  I used to be able to Suspend my session and when ready I hit a key and entered my password and was back on.  Now I can't seem to do this.  I have tried Sleep but it does not lock my session.  Any ideas?

    Suspend has been removed since its notoriously unreliable , it was removed in ubuntu as well, if you would like to suspend can choose a graphical way or command way. An easy graphical way is to install qshutdown, command way is as follows  http://askubuntu.com/questions/120967/what-is-the-user-level-command-to-suspend/120976#120976

    Also keep in mind that tlp was installed for automatic power management and xscreensaver is used to lock the screen

    xscreensaver preferences can be found in the menu

    Also just in case you missed it, 'Lock' is available on the log out screen, coupled with your xscreensaver preferences and tlp should be adequate.

    p { margin-bottom: 0.1in; line-height: 120%; }

    I have tired this
    with no luck. I can get the system to suspend using qshutdown but it
    will not require the user password when coming back out of suspend.
    I have looked at the settings in xscreensaver and can get it to lock
    and require the password after blanking the screen but I cannot get
    them to work together. Any help would be appreciated....thanks

    Although 'Sleep' is not the same as suspend, for trouble shooting  purposes, when using sleep does it lock the screen?

    I don't see Sleep as a option in either program.
