    Hi,

first of all I wanna say, that I'm very impressed by LXLE. It's a great and fast Linux distro.

I installed LXLE with german language on an older PC and manually installed the german language packages.

All runs fine, only the keyboard is US.

I can change temporarily keyboard layout to German bei "lxkeymap".

After a reboot, the keyboard layout is again US, so u have to change every boot the keyboard layout to german.

Where can I change the keyboard layout to german permanently?

    Thx

    try launching lxkeymap as root.

    menu>run>lxkeymap

    check run as root.

    Hi,

didn't work for me, but my sister (owner of the PC and 1st week on linux!!!) found a solution.

    1. Right click on panel
    2. Add/Remove panel items
    3. Add -> Keyboard layout handler
    4. Right click on US flag -> Keyboard layout handler settings
    5. Uncheck "Keep system layouts"
    6. Keyboard layouts -> Add
    7. Add keyboard layout "de" for Germany
    8. Moved up keyboard layout "de" in the list of keyboard layouts
    9. Success!!!

Btw: Will it be possible to upgrade directly from LXLE 12.04.4 to 14.04.x?

    Hylli
