Hi, I'm a LXLE newbie, just installed 12.04.4 onto an old eMachines M5122 laptop with the following specs (taken from device manager of previous XP prior to wipedown and install of LXLE) -
    Intel Celeron 2.5Ghz
    1.2Gb PC2700 RAM
    Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics
Texas Instruments OHCI 1394 Host Adaptor
    Slimtype Combo LSC-24082K CD/DVD Drive
    Conexant SoftK56 modem
    Broadcom 54g MaxPerformance WiFi adaptor (driver 170703 v 3.30.15.0)
Realtek RTL 8139/810X Family Fast Ethernet
    Texas PCI-1510 Cardbus adaptor
    Soundmax Audio

Desktop comes up fine, no errors, but when trying to use networking (wired or wireless), I'm hitting problems -
Wired - Set manual IPv4 address etc, but unable to access router admin page 192.168.1.1 and info sidebar shows upload traffic, but nothing down.
Wireless - Correct wireless key entered, but system keeps coming back asking for Wireless Authentication.

    Any ideas anyone ?
    Thanks

Update - Managed to sort the wireless side of things by deleting the existing Wireless networking settings (SSID, Password etc), rebooting and then entering manually. Now performing updates  :)

Still a little stumped about the Wired network, but will try additional drivers and updates, then see how it goes.

It was because you never right clicked on the network indicator next to the clock/speaker and switched it to wireless and or you didn't disconnect the ethernet cord and it was attempting to connect twice.
