Hi all, I thought I would start a thread that we could post your laptops and netbooks, that you have had success installing LXLE. I fill this would be a good help for people wanting to install LXLE and are wondering if there machine is compatible.
I think we should put some rules, so people don't spend a lot of time reading a post. So that said lets just put.

#1 Model (Acer Aspire One Netbook)
    #2 Processor type (2x Intel Atom cpu N270 @ 1.60 GHZ
#3 Storage (OCZ Solid State 120 Gig)
    #4 Ram (2 Gig of DDR 2)
    #5 Video card (?)

So it can be that simple, and you can add maybe how you installed it, whether with a external DVD or a USB or maybe you used PLop cd to assist a USB install.
Things like that, but keep it short and sweet.
Thank you all in advance for participating.
    Regards
    borunco

    #1 Model IBM Thinkpad T41
    #2 Processor type
    #3 Storage 40G SATA
#4 Ram (1.2 Gig of RAM
    #5 Video card AMD/ATI RV200
    Performance is excellent.

One problem, though, not an issue with the operating system.  There was a Intel PRO 2100 wireless card in there originally, which would not connect to a WPA wifi network.  I was able to find a T41 BIOS that doesn't check for the "properly" installed wifi card.  I put another wifi card in there, from an HP laptop that does do WPA, and now everything works.  Like I said not a problem with the OS, but I thought others might benefit.

Inspiron 4000 using Latitude C510 firmware
    Celeron 700mhz
    20GB HD
    256mb PC100 DDR / 1GB swap
     ATI Rage Mobility-128 Video

    Inspiron 4000
    Pentium III 1Ghz
    40GB HD
    5126mb PC100 DDR / 1GB swap
     ATI Rage Mobility-128 Video

    * The live cd boots and runs fine on the inspiron 4000 however the installer for 12.04.4 32 bit will crash with a dbus not responding error.  A workaround was to install the system to the hd's using another laptop and then move them back.   In future perhaps a 32 bit "image" of some sort could be made available that could be used on these older laptops that still run the actual system fine.  This would allow installing to laptops with as little as 256mb ram.

Finally bit the bullet and installed 12.04.4 on my Thinkpad T400.

All is working well.  The ATI extra graphics display is totally ignored (I don't care, prolly a good thing in the long run) and I'm still tweaking the install.

I was disappointed that the install didn't offer more by way of laptop configuration and led me down some rabbit trails trying to find a battery info display.  (Still looking for a permanent solution.)

I'm not apt to get too creative with this install ~ I use it seldom and when I do it's just for the basics when away from the desktop.

btw, I choose to keep with 12.04.4 as it's life is thru 2017 and there's way fewer problems than with the newer releases.

    Thinkpad T400
    Intel Duo Core P8400 2.26GHz
4 GB RAM,  128Gb Kingston SSD
    All other bells and whistles.
