Consideration of adding LXLE to Crouton for Chromebooks
  • Hello,

So far LXLE yields the best results on legacy XP computers. I've tried Peppermint, Lubuntu, Zorin but none have the capabilities of LXLE working off the Ubuntu LTS basic. I likke most software selections and have switched only email to Thunderbird and added Google Chromium to facilitate network printing.

At our local user group I am teaching a small class of Chromebook users how to make their device work offline (LibreOffice, Email, etc). Crouton is an excellent solution for adding Ubuntu as second operating system within Chrome. Unfortunately the Unity Desktop eats memory and LXLE seems like a much better fit.

Has anyone tried this? Would it be valuable for LXLE to package and document a more productive and easy solution?

    Stew

If it works with Ubuntu then it will probably work with LXLE.
