How do you remove those desktop icon shortcut arrows

    Find those little shortcut arrows kind of annoying. Is there a way to remove them? Also, is there a variable way to adjust the icon sizes rather than the set sizes in Preference>Display? Thanks.

    Those little arrows are created within the file manager itself.  They are an overlay placed there to inform you that it is a symbolic link and not the source. Since I find nothing in the Preferences - Display options of pcmanfm to turn them off, I now look for the icon set. 

    $ locate emblem-symbolic-link

    This will list all of them. After that it is a matter of editing them with GIMP or Krita.
