So I went to automate mounting a drive (A shared exfat drive w/ macOS on the same machine) I got the drive uuid, made a mountpoint for it and quite literally copied the line for fstab from an official Ubuntu help page, substituting my uuid and share media dir name. Went to reboot and......kernel panic. This is why I sometimes loathe linux ....a drive failing to mount takes down the entire OS ..............How well is that planned? Imanaged to get into the etc directory another way, non graphically and fix the fstab file.... but I now have a drive I can mount from fileman which crashes my OS if I try and automount it. I don't think I did this wrong but if anyone can supply guidance I might even have a baby for them.....
