Moving Download To Home Folder
  • I downloaded an Nvidia driver, and am trying to install it from the tty1 (sudo bash etc). But it's having trouble finding the file. I think I need to move it to my home folder. The file is "NDIVIA-Linux-x86-304.137.run". Where should I move it so that it can be found and installed, and how can I do that?

    Thanks, Mike
  • Never mind, I realized I just needed to do cd ~/Downloads. The file was then found. Unfortunately, installation of the driver failed. More research needed...

Update: more research revealed that this driver won't work on anything later than Ubuntu 16 distros. From reading the Nvidia forum. Case closed.
