Unattended upgrades
  • I've recently done three fresh installs of LXLE 18.04.3 (both 64-bit and 32-bit) and I noticed that on all of the newly installed systems, the usual "unattended-upgrades" config files in /etc/apt/apt.conf.d are not present. I'm referring to "20auto-upgrades" and "50unattended-upgrades", which are present in my older LXLE 12.04 installation. As far as I can tell from Googling, these files are still needed in Bionic Beaver for unattended-upgrades to work , so why are they not present in LXLE 18.04.3?

    they're located in /usr/share/unattended-upgrades

  • Oh, thanks. Do I need to copy these files over into /etc/apt/apt.conf.d to activate unattended-upgrades?
