Create a Custom LXLE distro?
  • Hello,

I volunteer at a nonprofit and we provide free computers to refugees. I have some basic linux experience but certainly not a pro. I'm looking for a solution that would allow us to create a customized LXLE distro with firefox pre installed and a 'deep freeze' solution (wipe user files and reset settings after a logout or restart) that can be installed on different machines or laptops.

I've found some solutions like Suse Studio and Ubuntu Creation Kit but they all seem to run on Ubuntu or SuseOS.

What's the easiest way to achieve this specifically for LXLE? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

The simplest way I know is to install systemback after you add remove the progams you want and use it to create a live usb, then an ISO file. Then you can boot it from Grub boot loader.

Then boot to it from Grub bootloader.
