Error Message on Boot
  • Hi, I updated 14.04 to 16.04 using the update tool. My machine is a core2 duo running on an AsRock mobo with 2 GB of RAM. On boot, I get a window that notes that an error has occurred, and asking if I should send the error info on to the team. I have done so, and updated all the software after the upgrade, but still get the error message. I looked at /var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log, and found one error entry:

2017-06-22 16:54:25,273 ERROR got error from PostInstallScript ./xorg_fix_proprietary.py (Failed to execute child process "./xorg_fix_proprietary.py" (No such file or directory))

How might I go about fixing this? Thanks in advance.

Did you use Ubuntu's upgrade repo ?  It will probably leave you with a messed up LXLE install. Normally you need to download and install the 16.04 iso, so you end up with a working system.
