I used the update tool to take LXLE from 14.04 to 16.04. My machine is a desktop core2 duo with an older AsRock mobo and 2 GB of RAM. 14.04 had a little "thought balloon" in the upper right hand corner of the display that showed CPU, RAM, and LAN throughput; that has now disappeared. Was this a Conky script, or ?? If so, where can I find a copy of the script? Thanks in advance.
I upgraded through an advisory pop-up message after booting that there was a new version of Ubuntu available and did I want to upgrade. So I did. There's no data at risk; I can reinstall from scratch in this case.
not sure how that occurred since displaying upgrades to the 'next version' of ubuntu are disabled by default... there was also never an update manager running in the background either.
