LXLE ran so well for so long that I misplaced my PW info and recently I needed to load a "office compatible" program, downloaded Apache and the download trashed me for some unknown reason. So now trying to do a PW reset. After getting "Give root password" I went to: grub, "e", changed to ro, added "init=/bin/bash, did ctrl x(F-10), and it runs the file and stops just past the UBUNTU prompt...the 1st line: 5.868779 call trace...then 10 lines later: 10: 5.869121; Line 11: 5.869254 c1580000 ?__wait_ on_ bit+0x2010x70.....this is as far as I can get. 1. I need to get my PW to re-load and retain my files. If I can't re-password can I slave a different HDD and pull my files from the old drive? Any help appreciated..I do have a file backup stick.
